Well what a weekend of running it was last weekend for runners associated with Castle Coaching Fitness, with a number of fine performances from 5k up to full Marathon.

First to run was runner Natalie Boswell who was First Lady home in the Park Hall Park Run and attained yet another pb.

Meanwhile in North Wales, our coach Chris Hollinshead was competing in the Bangor Half Marathon, one of Chris Yorke’s excellent RunWales events. Over an undulating course, taking in Bangor Pier, Penrhyn Castle and several challenging hills Chris came out on top, winning in a time of 77.31.

Sunday it was the turn of Lauren Turley to take to the streets of Chester for her first Marathon.  In near perfect running conditions Lauren ran a fantastic race to finish in a time of 3:32:13 and 27th senior lady.  This time qualifies her for a good for age entry for London Marathon.

Coach Chris Hollinshead said, “It was great to see Lauren have such a good run.  She has been very dedicated in following a structured training programme over the last 10 months as we worked towards the Marathon and today Lauren has been rewarded for all her hard work, with her average mile pace nearly a minute quicker than at the start of her training programme.”

Next stop – the Conwy Half Marathon
