It was great to hear from one of my clients recently following her first triathlon since we started working together. The lady in question had competed in a few triathlons previously but was keen to improve her running discipline and had also got a half marathon lined up towards the end of the year.
Following an initial consultation I provided a draft training schedule for the weeks leading up to the race. We then had further discusssions via email while we tweaked the programme to ensure that the runs fitted in with her work schedule. The client has followed the finalised programme for about 6 weeks now and last week end was in a triathlon competition where she knocked 4 minutes off her previous best run time. Naturally she was extremely pleased with her progress and if everything goes to plan she should be on for a good performance by the time she takes her place on the half marathon start line.
